Wellesley

A true taste of Italy in Wellesley

By John H.

This great shop in downtown Wellesley serves delicious panini (sandwiches) and offers a variety of cured hams, as well as imported oils, pastas, sweets and other Italian specialty foods (including fresh pesto in the cooler). What they have is excellent, but their selection is rather limited. Wellesley's prohibition on bottle alcohol means you won't find any imported wines or spirits here, either. A few tables in the center of the shop are comfortable for eating. Hours are restrictive (approximately 10 to 5, weekdays only), and parking can be hit-or-miss, but I highly recommend the lunch. Expect to spend about $10 per person for a sandwich and drink.
